These are just a few of the things that come to mind this time of the year for me. This time of the year,I think, is a chance to recharge the family batteries. I’m energized by my Pop’s stories, a high five from my brothers, even just a call from Mom and an extra slice of pie. It gives me a balance to my life that’s always needed, and the reason I and so many others like to give so much this time of year. The nature of a caregiver is to deplete their source of energy by sharing, caring and spending time with those in need. Thanksgiving gives all of us caregivers a chance to build our compassion meters back up and continue to give.
Enjoy these beautiful moments with family while you can, give it all you have, and be thankful today for the chance to share that bond. Life moves fast, so keep them close while you have the time.
